NBA Playoffs
The Celtics continued their Jekyl & Hyde act by beating the Cavaliers 96-89 at home to take a 3-2 series. Despite a game high 35 points by LeBron James, it was Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett who got it done. Pierce led the C's with 29, while KG had 26 points and 16 rebounds to help Beantown come back from a 14-point 2nd quarter deficit. The Celtics are now 7-0 in the playoffs at home, but game 6 means a road contest for Boston, who is 0-6 on the road this postseason.
Despite a bad back, Kobe Bryant led the Lakers to a 111-104 victory over the Jazz to give L.A. a 3-2 series lead. Kobe poured in 26 points and seven assists to lead all five Lakers starters in double figures. Pao Gasol added 21 points and eight assists.
Henin Retires
A stunner from women's tennis. World number one Justin Henin retired Wednesday, effective immediately, at the ripe old age of 25. Henin owns seven grand slam singles titles and is the three-time defending French Open champion.
Play of the Day
Paul Pierce fakes a three attempt and hands off to Kevin Garnett. He gives it back to Pierce for the 2-hand slam. Check that out again as Garnett makes a nice behind-the-back dish to Pierce for a big swinging dunk and our play of the day!
