Two Oklahoma faith-based disaster relief teams are trying to help those suffering following the Myanmar cyclone.
A team from the staff of Tulsa-based World Compassion Terry Law Ministries are in Yangon, Myanmar, while the Oklahoma City-based Baptist Disaster Relief team is in Thailand in hopes of getting into Myanmar.
A spokesman with World Compassion says the team is delivering water purification systems and about one million dollars in medicines.
Oklahoma Baptist Disaster Relief director Sam Porter says his team also hopes to provide water purification systems. They are also taking kits to build small huts to provide shelter for survivors.
