Ex-Attorney Pleads Guilty to Robbery

An ex-attorney who jumped from a hospital ledge after his arrest has pleaded guilty to the 2007 armed robbery of an Edmond pharmacy.

Robert Michael Behlen, 51, entered his plea on Thursday in U.S. District Court in Oklahoma City.

Behlen faces up to 20 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000 when he is sentenced in the next few months.

He walked with a pronounced limp in court, the result of a fractured pelvis and dislocated hip he suffered when he leaped 30 feet from a hospital window on September 27.

Behlen was arrested September 18, 2007 after he demanded painkillers and held

Barrett Drug Center employees at gunpoint during the robbery.

According to court papers, Behlen swallowed as many as a dozen pills before leaving with about $7,000 worth of prescription drugs.
