Gomez Cycles

In Chicago Twins Chris Gomez hit for the cycle as the twins crushed the Whitesox 13-1. Gomez lead off the game with a homerun, had an RBI triple in the 5th, an RBI double in the 6th, and an infield single in the 9th. Gomez is the first Twins player to hit for the cycle since Kirby Puckett did it 22 years ago.

NBA Playoffs

Kobe Bryant got his first NBA MVP trophy before going big-time on the Jazz. Bryant threw in 34 points with 8 rebounds and 6 assists as Lakers won 120-110 over Utah to take a 2-0 lead in the series. Derek Fisher also had 22 points and Lamar Odom had a double-double; 19 points and 16 rebounds, as the Lakers improve to 6-0 in the postseason. Deron Williams scored 25 for the Jazz who will host game 3 Friday night.

Orlando now trails Detroit 2-1 in their eastern conference semifinal series after stopping the Pistons 111-86 in game three. Riscard Lewis scored a career high 33 pts, while Dwight Howard added 20 points and 12 rebounds. Pistons point guard Chauncey Billups will have an MRI on Thursday, after suffering a strained right hamstring. His status for Saturday's game 4 is unknown.

Play of the Day

First set, Justine Henin near court, She races in, Chan Yung-Jan of Taiwan has her on the run, but the world number one flicks a forehand winner racing back to the baseline. Tremendous shot from Henin that is worth a second look. Henin wins in straight sets 6-0 and 6-2, and comes away with our play of the day.
