Authorities have arrested 20-year-old Joshua Hunter. He was arrested on one complaint of terrorism hoax.
Investigators say he called in a threat that placed three southwest Oklahoma School districts on lock down Thursday. Schools in Lawton, Chickasha and Marlow were on lock down after police received a telephone threat.
A spokesperson for OSBI says Hunter was specifically targeting Lawton and Chickasha schools. She wouldn't give out specifics but says Hunter wanted to make a point.
OSBI also says Hunter also had another plan "b" in mind. Authorities say he wanted to set fire to the Anadarko Police Department.
At this time, investigators don't believe Hunter was a former student of any of the schools or has a criminal record. In addition, they say it was important to react quickly since these type of incidents have occurred in other areas.
The Caddo County District Attorney will now decide what kind of charges Hunter will face.
As for the schools on lock down, classes continued but parents could pick up their children if they wish. Extra police were also at the schools.
OSBI, the FBI and several agencies were involved in this situation.
