Hinton Woman Dies In Crash

Tuesday, October 16, 2007 Posted: 11:53 a.m. (CDT)

A Hinton woman is dead and a Hinton man is critically injured after a two-vehicle collision in Canadian County.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says Maria Plascencia, 69, and Marino Plascencia, 69, were traveling in a sport utility vehicle driven by Marino. The two were headed west on Interstate 40 when the right rear tire went flat. The SUV then skidded across the median into eastbound traffic and was hit by a pickup truck.

Maria Plascencia was pronounced dead at the scene. Mario Plascencia was taken to a nearby hospital and is listed in critical condition.

The two people in the pickup were not injured.
