Oklahoma City -- The first part of a major statewide campaign against meth kicks off Tuesday.
The effort is called Crystal Darkness and it's aimed at increasing the awareness of meth.
A half-hour documentary will air on KSBI-TV and on TV stations statewide Monday at 6:30 p.m. The documentary features testimonials articulating the devastating impact meth has had on families and communities statewide.
Robert Newman, Co-Founder Whitten-Newman Foundation, a local non-profit that helps kids, says it's very important families watch this together.
"Please understand spending the 30 minutes with your children watching this program is important. The problem is real. It's the greatest threat to kids today and we'd love it if you had the awareness and the understanding for the things you can do to prevent this happening to your family," says Newman.
The second phase of the campaign encourages communities to have town hall meetings to find ways to fight the substance abuse.
