Kealey McIntire
Kealey began her professional broadcast career in 2002. She left her hometown of Des Moines, Iowa for the flatlands of West Texas where she spent nearly four years before accepting the anchor position at KSBI.
Kealey was born and raised in Des Moines, Iowa. No, she didn't grow up on a farm, nor does she like corn, one of Iowa's major agricultural products.
Kealey first dabbled in broadcasting in high school. A local radio station gave teenagers free reign at the airwaves on Sunday afternoons. She and a friend did this and the rest is history. Kealey's first love was radio. She and the same friend hosted "The Mac and Freak Show," a weekly radio show on the public school system's radio station.
She began expanding her broadcast career at Grand View College, where she also hosted a weekly radio show. She made the transition to TV just after her junior year in college. Kealey devoted an entire summer learning the in's and out's of TV news at a local television station.
That takes us to Dubuque, Iowa, where she briefly worked as a reporter. She then accepted a weekend anchor/ reporter position in Midland, Texas. Kealey devoted much of her time as a reporter in Midland to "Problem Solvers," series geared toward solving and preventing consumer related issues.
After two years in Midland, she headed to Lubbock in December 2004 where she became the weekend anchor/ reporter. Kealey left Lubbock in July 2006 for Oklahoma City, and is now very excited about being closer to her family.
Outside of KSBI-TV, Kealey leads a very active lifestyle. She has taught cardio-kickboxing and is a NPC figure competitor.
Kealey graduated from Grand View College in Des Moines, Iowa with a Radio/ TV degree. She was a part of the Lady Viking's Basketball team for three years. She accepts the fact she's getting old(er), and no longer professes to be a "good" basketball player!
